What to Expect on Your Scuba Dive in Anilao?

Batangas is known for not only being the go-to beach destination for city-dwellers but also for being home to some of the country’s most amazing dive sites. And since the new year comes with resolutions that include travelling and going on memorable adventures more, Batangas is again becoming a hotspot for those looking to try scuba diving for the first time.

We here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort in Batangas are more than happy to accommodate thrill-seekers, whether experienced or amateurs! Considered as one of the best diving resorts in the country, we do not just have the right spot for diving but also quality equipment and highly-qualified instructors that know how to prepare you and make you fall n love with scuba diving. To give you a head start, here are a few things you should expect on your first scuba dive:

  1. Breathing with an apparatus

The very first strange thing that would probably catch you off guard is breathing through a scuba regulator. What you have to know is that breathing underwater (especially if it’s shallow), feels almost similar to breathing out of the water. In reality, it’s the physical presence of the scuba regulator that takes a while to get used to but just relax and take your time.

  1. The silence and the noise

A lot of you have probably read online accounts of scuba divers writing about how peaceful being underwater is. Yes, it’s relaxing but to prepare you, breathing underwater can be quite noisy. Swimming underwater with the rich marine life is a beautiful silence but the bubbling sound of every exhale and the whoosh of the air with every inhale can be quite loud.

  1. Visibility

The main challenge with visibility when wearing a scuba mask is most of the time, it deprives the wearer of its peripheral vision. This may seem unnatural at first but you’ll quickly acclimate to the sensation of having limited field of vision and get used to just turning your head to see through the blind spots. Visibility also depends on the diving spot but no worries, our diving experts here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort will make sure that the water’s perfect for you to maximize the experience.

  1. Density and movement

Since water is in fact, denser than air, it may slow down your movement. It’s best to make every motion controlled so you don’t exhaust easily. This will also take a lot of time to get used to especially when you have an apparatus on you. Our advice is to relax and let the weightlessness help you enjoy what it’s like to be free of gravity like an astronaut in outer space!
