Best Finger Foods to Bring to the Beach

Best Finger Foods to Bring to the Beach

Going on a trip to the beach is never complete without delicious foods you and your squad can enjoy munching on. But with the two hour travel, not to mention the sand waiting for you on the shore, trying to come up with the perfect menu to bring can be quite tricky.

With us Filipinos globally known for being rice-lovers, plus the fact that our favorite viands are those that are soup or sauce-based like adobong manok or sinigang), looking for a more travel and beach-appropriate food is quite difficult… not until you came upon this list.

Since we here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort like to make your tropical getaway hassle-free, we’ve come up with the top 4 perfect foods you can bring to beach:

  1. Sandwiches

A day at the beach is like a picnic in the park- you’re sitting down on the ground, with the sun right above you. Now, dining al fresco without the usual tables and chairs your accustomed to could prove to be a challenge if you’re planning to bring rice and your favorite “ulam”; this is where the ever-reliable sandwiches come in.

The great thing about this breaded wonder is that you can customized it to your liking. Whether you keep it classic with ham and cheese or do  it gourmet style with a slice of avocado or a spread of greek yogurt, sandwiches are great, stress-free snacks to bring on a road trip. Another reason to love sandwiches? They’re easy to prepare, to stock, and to eat!

  1. Wraps

Tired of sandwiches? Then it’s time to say hello to wraps! Besides the fact that it’s fun to coil things up in your favorite flat bread, wraps are actually as easy to eat as the classic sandwich. You also have the same flexibility in terms of what you want to bite into but we suggest going the Middle East direction and trying your hand at making a shawarma; chicken and tuna wraps are quite easy and popular choices as well.

  1. Burgers

Another finger food that’s a crowd favorite in the tropics are burgers. It’s just like a sandwich but with buns. Our suggestion? Go for the no-fail BLT (bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes) but if you’re a cheese lover like us, throw in a slice of cheddar or mozzarella as well. And for those who are vegetarians, vegans, or just conscious about ruining the  beach body you’ve worked all summer for, no worries, the internet is filled with no-meat, no-carb burgers that are just as easy to make.

You know what made these first three foods that we mentioned top our list? They’re not only a breeze to whip up but they are actually enough to eat for lunch or dinner.

  1. Grilled goods

From our observation, one of things barkadas enjoy doing at the beach is grilling their own food. We’re all up for this; after all, it’s not just a great way to bond with your squad but also makes your tropical trip come full circle. Whether it’s a slab of liempo, a few sticks or barbeque, or a selection of seafoods, with the right marinade, grilling for lunch or dinner can be both enjoyable and delectable.

Of course, if you went here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort in Batangas to really surrender to relaxation and you have no desire whatsoever to cook food, our in house restaurant, Eagle’s Nest Restaurant and Bar, is ready to serve you mouthwater international and local cuisine!
