In today’s digital age, there’s no going to the beach in Batangas without your trusty smartphones and action cameras. Now, rest and recreation in any tropical destination also means coming home with Instagram-worthy shots of your getaway.
However, I think we can all admit that not everybody is a professional photographer so sometimes, we end up browsing through nothing more but dark images of the Batangas beach resort. And since we here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort in Batangas want to make sure your vacation is something you could look back to with a smile on your face, here are 5 very simple tips to remember for taking amazing beach photos:
- Take time into consideration.
Just like any other photo, timing is a very important factor if you want to snap good shots of the Batangas beach. Remember, natural lighting is very dependent on what time of the day it is. If you’re an amateur, then you should now keep in mind that early morning and late in the afternoon are the best times for outdoor photography. During those times, the sun is positioned in such a way that everything is tinged with a great warm color so contrast is not too high making for much more aesthetically-pleasing images.
- Get your feet wet.
When you’re at the beach in Batangas, you’re there for the beach so you better get your feet wet and not just stay on the sand. Get to the water’s edge because where the water reaches the sand, you won’t have foregrounds filled with footprints, tracks, and other things that may look too distracting on the photos. This means that your seascapes and horizons will look much cleaner and more crisp. You can also look down on the water and be surprised to see reflections that may produce interesting images.
- Find a focal point.
When guests come here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort in Batangas, it’s common for us to be tagged on photos of our amazing horizon where the sea meets the sky. This is a very typical shot when people go to the beach but if you want to add a few more shots that could showcase the destination in a different angle, you could try looking for a focal point. Compose your image around something interesting you may find on the sand, or maybe a fisherman about to set sail. With images like this, it’s all about telling a story.
- Look up.
As we’ve mentioned on the first item, the skies play a vital role when you’re trying to take good photos of the beach. So besides look out to the see, why not look up? Unique cloud formations can make for interesting horizon photos and don’t be afraid to shoot even when the skies are dark because that often paints a great image. Also, you can play around filters because photos of gray skies can look even more breathtaking if you know how to play with brightness, contrast, and saturation.
- Use your wide-angle lens.
One of the reasons people go and unwind at the beaches in Batangas is to escape from the busy metropolis. Yes, skyscrapers may be beautiful to look at especially at night but there’s just something about reconnecting with nature and feeling a sense of isolation when you’re only surrounded by the sand, sea, and sky. What we’re saying here is that Batangas beach offers unparalleled views of vast waters and skies so to really capture this, you’d want to maximize using your wide-angle lens.
So there you go! Better get creative and start taking and collecting great photos of the beach. Oh, and don’t forget to tag us when you do plan to have a mini photo shoot here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort in Batangas.
