Helpful Tips: Packing a Travel Emergency Medical Kit

Summer is peak season for travelers and millennials are some of the most active adventurers out there. In fact, this cohort is also a fan of spontaneous trips because sometimes, the best travels are those that are unplanned. But before you head out on your next beat-the-heat travel adventure in beach resorts in Batangas, packing a travel emergency medical kit is a great way to ensure that no matter what happens, no matter where you go, you will be ready for anything that will come your way.

But what is a travel emergency medical kit?

This is quite self-explanatory, a travel emergency medical kit is a supply kit that can turn to if any unforeseen health emergencies arise during your trip. Whether it’s wounds and cuts or headaches and joint pains, this kit will save the day. Remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

What to consider:

  1. Your destination

Before you pack your travel emergency medical kit, you first have to consider where you are going. Research about your destination and find out what you should be prepared for. Know if the Batangas beach resort has sand fleas or mosquitos, or if there is a chance of you going on a hike. Knowing more about the place is familiarizing yourself with the risks so you know just what to pack on your travel emergency medical kit.

  1. Your trip style

Knowing your travel style can also determine how you will pack your travel emergency medical kit. Are you more of a road trip person or a flight fanatic? Are you going on a tropical destination or off to a hike in the mountains? Determining your trip style will help you know just what to equip yourself with. This is especially important if you are going to a foreign land where you will find it difficult to express yourself and search for medical help should an emergency arise.

  1. Your personal health

Of course, you should also consider your personal health when it comes to packing your travel emergency medical kit. If you have any existing conditions that require you to carry specific medications, then make sure to stock up on those. Remember, it’s better to have extra and not need it than need it and not have any.

The basics:
Of course, now that you know the three things to consider when packing your travel emergency medical kit, we move to the basics. Just think of your school’s first aid kit:

  • Band-aids
For wounds, cuts, and other blisters that may need quick fixes.
  • Pain-relievers
For any type of ache that may suddenly occur during your trip- headaches, stomachaches, toothaches, and such.
  • Stomach flu medication
Eating food you are not familiar with might result in an upset stomach so you better have medication ready for constipation or diarrhea.
  • Insect repellant
Going to tropical destinations means having to deal with pesky insects sometimes. Avoid unwanted bites and scratches by packing an insect-repellant.
  • Anti-bacterial gel
So you have something to apply to any minor abrasions, cuts, and even itches.
  • Motion sickness tablets
For good measure, you should also pack tablets for motion sickness in case you plan on going island hopping or just generally riding a boat.

Okay, now that you are all set and ready to pack your travel emergency medical kit,  it’s time to plan your next trip! We hope to see you soon here at Eagle Point Beach and Diving Resort in Batangas.
